Symptoms
Concussion symptoms vary from kid to kid.
For most these symptoms will be temporary.
Physical Cognitive Behavioral/Emotional
Headaches Difficulty sustaining
attention Irritability
Blurred vision
Noise or light sensitivity
Nausea
Dizziness
Difficulty concentrating
Difficulty following
through on tasks
Frustration
The following could indicate the student suffered
a more severe brain injury than a concussion and
needs immediate medical attention:
Moodiness • Significant drowsiness or inability to wake up
Sadness or anxiety • A headache that is especially severe
or gets worse
Balance difficulties Difficulty following
directions Sleep changes Mental “fog” • Repeated vomiting
Fatigue Slowed thinking • Slurred speech
Confusion • Convulsions or seizures
Forgetfulness • Increasing confusion, restlessness or agitation
• Weakness, numbness or tingling in arms or legs
• Unusual behavior

or go to the nearest emergency room.
