The Passion For Acting
Jeshuan Malavé knows what it means
to struggle for his art. As an immigrant from Puerto Rico, Jeshuan had
to constantly overexert himself to
overcome obstacles. Early in his life,
Jeshuan felt the pressures, common
in immigrant households, to pursue
prodigious professional careers. So
he decided to follow in his brother’s
footsteps and entertain the
idea of studying
medicine.
While visiting his terminally ill father in
the hospital, the two engaged in conversation that would change the course of
Jeshuan’s life and inspire him to follow his
dreams of performing on Broadway. “I
know your dream is to be on the big screen
and Broadway! Do it! Don’t regret it! Try
it; don’t live your life in regret”, a nostalgic
remembrance of his father’s sage wisdom.
