En el siglo XVIII, algunos prelados de sensibilidad particular y atentos a su ministerio sacerdotal y a las carencias materiales de los más pobres, favorecieron la difusión de las escuelas de las Maestras Pías, las cuales, en su ministerio, cubrían las zonas más apartadas de la región, lugares en donde las jóvenes a menudo eran excluídas de la educación académica pública y de la instrucción religiosa. En este contexto histórico se encuadra la figura y la actividad apostólica de la Sierva de Dios Madre María Teresa Cucchiari, fundadora de las Maestras Pías Trinitarias, hoy Instituto de las Hermanas de la Santísima Trinidad.

During the XVII Century, some enlightened prelates, particularly attentive to the care of souls and sensitive to the sufferings of the poor, encouraged the spread of the schools of the Religious Teachers, who succeeded in reaching even the more remote rural areas of the country, where young women often were denied public and religious education. It is within this historical context and framewrok that the figure and the apostolic activity of the Servant of God, Mother Maria Theresa Cucchiari, foundress of the Trinitarian Religious Teachers, today known as the Institute of the Sisters of the Most Holy Trinity.

Nel corso del ‘700, alcuni illuminati prelati, particolarmente attenti alla cura delle anime e sensibili alle sofferenze anche materiali dei più poveri, favorirono la diffusione delle scuole delle Maestre Pie, che riuscivano a raggiungere anche le zone rurali più remote del Paese, dove spesso le giovani erano escluse dall’istruzione pubblica e religiosa. In tale contesto storico si inquadra la figura e l’attività apostolica della Serva di Dio Madre Maria Teresa Cucchiari, fondatrice delle Maestre Pie Trinitarie, oggi Istituto delle Suore della SS.ma Trinità.
