Project Name:
Academy 65
ith a shortage of on-campus housing, California State University
Sacramento has attracted national student housing developers to the
65/Folsom corridor. Academy 65 is among the first privately developed
properties targeted to serve the student community. Within walking distance to the
campus, Academy 65 features furnished, sleekly modern apartments where leases
and community space are structured to be dorm-like. Each floor has a library, and
the community center on the first floor includes a leasing office, a 24-hour gym, game
room/study lounge, bike storage, and space for a future retail store. The courtyard on
the second floor features grilling, lounge, fire pit and hot tub areas.
Tricorp Group, Inc. built the structure with a type 1 concrete first floor podium and 5
stories of type IIIA wood framed construction on top. Wildfire smoke and continual
wet weather posed schedule challenges, but Tricorp pushed hard to accelerate the
schedule to a successful completion.
Tricorp Group, Inc. is proud of its reputation for quality urban infill projects in
Sacramento, including Academy 65, 1430 Q, 16 Powerhouse and Eviva Midtown.
