EL DORADO HILLS WELCOMES
NEW CHARTER SCHOOL
John Adams Academy, a charter school
launched in Roseville in 2011, has arrived in
El Dorado Hills, ushered in by the parents
of more than 400 students who signed
intent-to-enroll forms and attended public
hearings to rally for the new campus. In its
seventh school year, the academy’s original
Roseville student body has grown from 500
to 1,400 pupils with a waiting list of 1,000.

Hills campus is in its first school year.
The team is working on a purchase sale
agreement for an existing building off La-
trobe Road and Highway 50 to house the
campus. This former tech manufactur-
ing building will provide nearly 100,000
square feet and accommodate as many
students as the Roseville campus. For
now, temporary buildings on the prop-
erty serve as classrooms. School man-
agement hopes to finalize the purchase,
complete tenant improvements and
move into the new building by the 2018-
19 school year.
The El Dorado Hills campus current-
ly offers kindergarten through seventh
grade, and will grow to 12th grade as cur-
rent students proceed to higher grades.
Attendance so far this year stands at
225 students, with applications still
being accepted. n
