As Folsom and El Dorado Hills grow in
popularity, residential communities make
headway toward completion
BY WILLIE CLARK
Best open the shutters — both Folsom
and El Dorado Hills are growing.
According to the California Department
of Finance, Folsom’s population in 2016
was 77,246, up from 72,203 in 2010. The
2010 U.S. Census also found a 39 percent
increase in Folsom’s population between
2000 to 2010.
“Folsom is the most desirable com-
munity in the region, which is reflected in
the fact that we have the highest average
price per square foot for sold homes,” says
Steven Heard, a real estate agent with
Keller Williams.
For El Dorado Hills, the 2010 U.S. Cen-
sus data noted a population of 42,108.
Compare that to 23,754 residents in 2000,
which shows that El Dorado Hills had rough-
ly a 77 percent increase over that decade.
