Kristopher Barkley, AIA, and Nikky Mohanna of Mohanna Development Co. are changing the shape of
Sacramento’s skyline, striving to innovate the places in which we live, work and play.
Barkley has been with Dreyfuss + Blackford Architecture for 30 years and has worked on the CalPERS
headquarters, the SMUD headquarters renovation, and the new Powerhouse Science Center.
At age 29, Mohanna has quickly gained a reputation as one of Sacramento’s most innovative home-
builders with 19J, her microunit apartments, and 10K, a mixed-use 15-story building.
These two will compare views on architecture, design, urban planning and the future of live-work and
mixed-use living in California.
