OVERVIEW
Join AIA architects and local students for a community service
morning at Mustard Seed School.
This event will focus on improving the school’s Outreach
Cottage. Volunteers will assist in implementing a design plan
created by a previous architectural charrette gathering.
A signed liability form is required to participate. All skill
levels are welcome.
Mustard Seed School was established in 1989 to help meet
the needs of homeless children. Many school-age children are
unable to attend school due to homelessness. Some children

lack immunizations, birth certificates, or other documents;
some are in transit; and almost all lack a support system.
Despite their challenging situations, these children are eager to
learn and to be accepted. Mustard Seed School fills this need in
a warm, supportive environment.
Event founded by Laura Knauss, AIA.
SPONSORS: Comstock’s magazine, California Surveying & Drafting
Supply, Fulcrum Property Corp., Lionakis, Milgard Windows & Doors,
SMUD, DLR Group and Flint Builders.
