...Why Rancho Murieta?
It’s no secret to those who know me, that I just adore Rancho Murieta.
My entire family has lived here since 1978 when I began my career in Real
Estate. After several years of selling, I launched my own company, Rancho
Murieta Homes & Land in 1993.
Rancho Murieta is a gorgeous gated community on Highway 16 between
Sacramento and Jackson, perhaps a 35-minute drive from downtown
Sacramento. Some would say that its history dates back to the days Joaquin
Murieta walked the land (Zorro fame, of lore).
Rancho Murieta is like a small-town community made up of all age
groups. It’s the site of two world-class golf courses, it sits alongside the
Cosumnes River and includes six man-made lakes, lots of recreational activity, an
equestrian center, a spray park for the children, dog park, a private air field that
is host to Rancho Murieta air shows, the new Bel Air Market, the new Murieta
Inn and Spa, plus so much more. People tell me all the time how they just love
walking on the trails around Rancho Murieta. Wildlife abounds with plenty
of deer, turkeys and rabbits. Canadian Geese, swans, river otter, beaver and
ducks of all kinds are common on each of the lakes. On weekend mornings it’s
not unusual to see one or two hot air balloons just outside your window. You can
even see bald eagles soaring from time to time.
Several years ago we created a beautiful recreational area on one of the lakes,
with swimming, a beach, BBQs, volleyball and a new amphitheater, surrounded by
a large grassy area with the lake as the backdrop. It creates the perfect setting for
picnics while enjoying exciting musical entertainment on weekend evenings.
