involvement in the community, was
founded on the premise that a collaborative team
could serve clients’ interests better than any one
individual. A true testament to that team spirit,
and their extraordinary people, is Partner and Chief
Compliance Officer Angie Butler.
Butler joined GBB in 1998 as an operations associate.
Since then, not only has her title changed, but
Kelly Brothers says, “Collectively, the advisors of
GBB have a pristine regulatory record, in no small
part because of Angie’s work to make sure we
understand the rules, abide by the rules, and always
put our clients’ interests first.”
”
Butler is responsible for evaluating compliance
issues and ensuring firm-wide compliance
with industry rules and regulations, securities
laws and GBB’s code of ethics. Additionally, she
leads the firm’s regulatory education programs,
has supervisory authority over external
communications and disseminates best practices
knowledge throughout the firm.
“When I was asked to become a partner, I was
surprised,” Butler says. “It is very rare that a non-
client-facing employee is invited to participate at
corners. We build trust through a culture of 1515 Response Rd.
