RACE CHARITIES Supporting WORTHY Causes The Comrades Marathon is extremely proud to be able to give back to those less fortunate, or to worthy causes in need of support, through its Amabeadibeadi Charity Drive, which supports six official race charities. The 2017 Comrades Marathon once again has six official charities as its beneficiaries, and runners could make a donation to one or more of these charities as part of their entry, while both runners and race supporters can further support these charities through the purchase of Amabeadibeadi beads and other products at the Expo. The Amabeadibeadi project continues to grow with the world’s biggest ultra, so find out a little more about the race charities and get involved to make your 2017 Comrades run a lasting gift! To do this, runners need to log on to their entry profile on www.comrades.com, select to join the Race4Charity drive and choose one of the six race charities to run for. They can then create their own fundraising page and will have until 2 May to raise at least R5000 to qualify for the special CC seeding batch. These runners will also receive an exclusive Race4Charity goodie bag at registration. Supporters can go online to make a donation towards a runner’s fundraising attempt – go to www.comrades.com/charities/race-4-charity, where you will be redirected to a Comrades entry list. Next, click on a runner’s charity logo to make an online donation to their cause.
