12 CLUB GAZEBOS

Club gazebos will be arranged according to the tier booking selected by each club – refer to the map on the next pages in this magazine. Participants are urged to find out from their clubs which area their club gazebo will be situated in, but in the event that participants cannot find their clubmates, this information will be available at the CMA Information Centre in People’ s Park

13 FOOD & DRINKS VENDORS

Various vendors selling food and drinks will be situated in People’ s Park, either near the walkway that runners use from the finish line area to get into People’ s Park, or near to the Tier 1, 2 and 3 club gazebo area.
The Finish venue at People’ s Park will not only provide ample space for all the club tents and gazebos but will also play host to a number of food vendors as well as the Castle Lite Beer Garden. This will help make it a great day out for all the family and friends waiting in Durban for their runners to finish.

14 KIDS PLAY AREA

The Comrades Marathon is traditionally a family affair, but it can also be a long day for the kids. So, to make sure that everyone has a fantastic time, the finish venue at People’ s Park will include a dedicated Kids Play Area. This will be a safe and exciting space, fully fenced off for parents’ peace of mind, where younger attendees can have a blast while the adults celebrate running achievements.
The Kids Play Area will be open from 09h00 to 18h00 on race day, ensuring hours of entertainment for the kids through fun activities such as face painting, balloon twisters, colouring activities, TV games, magic shows, a soft play area and a popcorn machine.

15 INFORMATION CENTRES

The main CMA Information Centre within the finish venue is situated inside People’ s Park. A second Information Centre is situated outside the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Masabalala Yengwa Avenue. The Information Centres will be staffed by CMA personnel. Participants and / or their supporters are urged to make use of these facilities, which will have information such as tent site maps, emergency contacts, as well as runners’ timing and medical information.
Please note: All information concerning participants in the 2025 Comrades Marathon will be relayed through to the CMA Information Centres located at the finish.

16 FIND YOUR RUNNER

Supporters searching for an athlete at the finish line must go to the CMA Information Centres to ascertain a participant’ s status. If a participant is in the medical tent or the St John’ s first aid tent, their supporters will be advised of the participant’ s anticipated discharge time.

17 MEETING PLACE

Participants are strongly encouraged to agree, prior to the start, on a place at the finish where they will meet their family and supporters. Participants are further encouraged to make use of the public spaces and club tent area located adjacent to the finish straight for this purpose, rather than meeting their loved ones immediately behind the finish area exit.
Please note: Due to the large number of runners, spectators, race staff and volunteers, medical services, media, etc, at the finish venue, the cellular networks tend to be largely oversubscribed, so making plans for a meeting place may save runners and their supporters much time and frustration.

18 LOST AND FOUND

An area servicing lost and found enquiries will be situated at the main CMA Information Centre. Please ensure that your children know parents’ names and running clubs, as this will make it much easier for the CMA personnel to locate parents and friends.

19 SECURITY

Please take good care of all personal belongings. Security personnel and members of the South African Police Services will be patrolling the finish area, but it is an individual’ s responsibility to take care of their personal items. Please be aware of pickpockets. Do not leave valuables in your vehicle unattended.

Medical Treatment

Should a participant require medical treatment at the finish venue, they will be taken to the finish medical tent, or they can make their way to the St John’ s first aid tent. Please note that the finish medical facility is only accessible to participants. In the event of a participant requiring to be admitted to hospital, Netcare 911 will provide emergency medical transport from the course or the finish area to the hospitals servicing the event: St Augustine’ s Hospital or Netcare Umhlanga in Durban, or St Anne’ s Hospital in Pietermaritzburg.
The Netcare Group will also sponsor a participant’ s treatment on race day, but note that participants who require hospitalisation and are a member of a medical aid, will be charged accordingly. If a participant does not have medical aid, the participant will be treated for a maximum period of 24 hours free of charge, and if they require more than 24 hours of hospital care, that participant may be transferred to a Provincial hospital, at the discretion of the relevant hospital management.
Note that the Netcare 911-sponsored free care only applies to participants transported to hospital by ambulance direct from the course or those referred to hospital from the finish medical facility. It does not apply to participants who make their own way to a hospital. If a participant leaves the course and uses his / her own transport to get to the finish, or to go home, or leaves the finish venue after the race and goes to a hospital( or their own doctor), the participant will not be eligible for the sponsored free treatment, as described above.
Please note: Netcare 911 will be available at the finish to provide first aid to members of the public, should the need arise. Please call 082 911 in the event of a medical emergency.
