Book Your Bus Ticket at the Expo
A highlight of the historic Comrades Marathon is the Comrades Marathon Expo, which coincides with the official registration of the 2025 event. This year, the Expo once again takes place at the Durban Exhibition Centre, from 5 to 7 June 2025.
One of the things runners can do at the Expo – if not already done online prior to the expo – is book their bus ticket to get to the Start in Pietermaritzburg, or back to Pietermaritzburg after their run.
Runners are invited to use our official shuttle service bus transportation before the race to get from Durban to the Start in Pietermaritzburg, and / or after the race, to get from the Finish in Durban back to Pietermaritzburg. Tickets can be bought online, or you can purchase your ticket from the Bus Ticket Stand at the Comrades Expo in Durban, or at Comrades Marathon House in Pietermaritzburg during the registration period. A single( one-way) ticket will cost R160, and a return ticket( both ways) sells for R300.
With more than 100 exhibitors, showcasing the latest in running gear, nutrition, technology and more to some 50,000 visitors over three days, the Comrades Marathon Expo is the largest running-related exhibition in Africa, where athletics, entertainment, innovation and excitement meet. The Expo caters for all sports enthusiasts, for families who are supporting runners, and for the newbies who are aspiring to be on the starting line one day.
The Expo dates and times are:
• Thursday 5 June – 10h00-19h00
• Friday 6 June – 09h00-19h00
• Saturday 7 June – 09h00-16h00
This Expo is not just collecting race numbers, goodie bags and the must-have race T-shirt, it’ s about meeting up with running friends from around the world, soaking up the pre-race atmosphere, working out some of those pre-race nerves, and all while stocking up on race day essentials, and experiencing all the latest in lifestyle, sport, health and nutrition.
The Durban leg of the Comrades Athlete Registration process is a major facet of the Expo, but runners can also register at Comrades house in Pietermaritzburg.
Entrance is free, so regardless of whether you are a novice or veteran runner, the Comrades Expo is not to be missed!
