Compliance Insider® Issue 1 Jun–Aug 2012 | Page 4

From the Editor Welcome to the first edition of the quarterly publication, Compliance Insider. I have been asked by team members and several key clients why we are creating a publication, and why now, and the answers to these questions are pretty straightforward: our clients, and the breadth of work the firm has undertaken over the past twelve months. In 2011, The Red Flag Group launched a series of Roundtables in the USA, Europe, Asia Pacific and the Middle East to create a forum for leaders in the industry to discuss best practice. The resounding and reoccurring feedback from these sessions was the need to share best practice from a practical and global perspective due to the complex and evolving issues facing compliance professionals working for multinational companies. Over the past year our work has taken us from Mongolia to Brazil, China to Iraq, giving us a unique insight on these challenging and difficult regions of the world. The aim of Compliance Insider is to share insight from industry leaders and our experience of being out there in the field, as well as to cover changes in compliance regulations. This issue will look at regulatory issues from the UK, India and China; insight from industry leaders such as Stacey Babson-Smith, Vice President and Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer at Terex and Refki El-Mujtahed, General Counsel of Arabtec; and introduce our CI series, “Things To Think About™”. We look forward to your feedback and kicking off the global dialogue for compliance leaders. Scott Lane Editor in Chief 04
