Materials: Two chairs Time: 5 to 15 minutes (depending on which option you choose) Instructions: 1. Below are three options for facilitating this activity depending on the environment and group. Regardless of which option you choose, make sure to explain what Tracking and Resourcing are before facilitating this activity. Option 1: Using a Volunteer. This option is better suited for smaller groups and participants who might already feel comfortable with each other. You will be demonstrating Resourcing with a volunteer in front of the entire group. Option 2: Break out groups with Volunteers. If you have a large group with multiple facilitators, you may break into smaller groups to demonstrate this exercise. This is essentially the same as Option 1, but with multiple, smaller groups. Option 3: Using a Co-Facilitator (recommended). You and your co-facilitator demonstrate Resourcing in front of the group. This allows for participants to see what Resourcing looks and feels like without putting a volunteer on the spot. This option is best for groups who are new to the ideas in CIT and might not yet understand what you are asking of them. 2. If you are using Option 1 or 2, you may use the following script. Ask, “May I have a volunteer who would like to demonstrate Resourcing and Tracking with me?” If you are using Option 3, explain, “My co-facilitator and I will be demonstrating Resourcing and Tracking for you.” C ENTER FOR C OMPASSION , I NTEGRITY AND S ECULAR E THICS | L IFE U NIVERSITY | M ARIETTA , G EORGIA -45-
