New diagnostic methods for breast will likely be liquid biopsy based

Personalised breast treatment with liquid biopsy Breast cancer receives the highest amount of research funding and thus has many developments in the liquid biopsy field . Companies are looking for protein biomarkers such as A & G Pharmaceuticals and Otraces Inc . Burning Rock Biotech , a large Asian player in this market , uses CtDNA to minimise tissue biopsies , hence the test can use blood ( or tissue ) to look for epigenetic changes for prognosis and personalised management of a patient ’ s breast cancer . This is in addition to their MCED test that similarly uses CtDNA , but measures methylation to locate early cancers . Replacing mammography as the standard breast cancer screening diagnostics is not yet feasible , but many tests in development will avoid unnecessary radiation exposure and may later prove superior .
