RUFFLE JUMPERS
BRAND
This jumper epitiomises all AW16 trends from pastel pink colour, to the high neck
and ruffle detail. There are traces of all the seasonal influences. Modestly priced,
this jumper retails at £59.00, without jeopardising the quality. It is well structured,
feels very soft and is appropriate for COS’ target market, who are not scared to
embrace the latest trends.
Topshop has created this design in 2 pastel colours; grey and dusky pink. Whilst
seemingly stripping back from the theatrical element of AW16 trends, there are
traces of ruffles on the shoulders, which nod to fashionable elements. Made 100%
cotton, this will stay in shape, is easier to was and will avoid pilling.
Zara is very similar to topshop, taking a modest approach to the trend. Following
the likes of topshop with regards to how much of the trend they have adopted. The
placing of the ruffles havent been thought out properly as it looks unflattering
detail on the bottom forming a peplum lends itself to both the Edwardian trend and
the ruffles. It has a singed waist which is flattering to the female figure; however,
similar to COS, it is also very comfortable as it is slouchy. Retailing at £30.
Navy is one of Victoria beckhams staple colours; yet this jumper is not the
conventional VB piece as she has stepped away from her signature clean, structured
edges. The ruffles are outlined on both arms in a simplistic way, as this is a high end
label that can incorporate as much or as little of the trend as they like. The weight of
this jumper highlights the luxurious elements of Victoria Beckhams label, along with
the incredibly soft lining that adds a touch of comfort to the garment.
