Meet our
Resident of the Month
Nora Ann Rowan was born on July 27, 1946,
in Kimball, Neb. to parents Vivian Marie
Springer and Harry Gallentine. Nora was raised
by her grandparents, whom she thought of as her
parents. She attended schools in Kimball and
Sydney Neb. Nora’s parents owned a restaurant
called, “The Coffee Cup,” and Nora worked
there through high school. She later worked in
retail and was a waitress.
Nora and her husband William have been
married for 48 years. He was an over-the road
truck driver. The couple moved quite often with
William’s job, and they ran a motel. They have three children, five grandchil-
dren and one great-grandchild. The couple also helped raise over 47 children
that needed a loving home and encouragement. Nora’s main passion was
teaching. She was a leader in both Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. While in Ne-
braska, she taught Head Start. Nora always enjoyed teaching and being
around children, as well as helping her grandson when he was in ROTC.
Nora has also lived in Greenville, S. C. and Denver, Colo. She moved to
Montana and worked as someone who designed store window fronts and dis-
plays. Nora and her family moved to Missouri approximately 15 years ago.
Her highlights are when she gets to see her children and grandchildren, know-
ing she has helped them achieved their goals.
While at Community Springs, Nora participates in several activities and
goes on outings with her family.
Thank you Nora for being our resident of the month.
