Meet our
Resident of the Month
Christie Lee Meitler was born
on March 29 to Nathan Meitler and
Virginia Lee Cundiff. Christie’s
father served in the Navy for 13 years
after this time he pursued a career
in law enforcement. During this
time, her mother was a manager at
Kent's Cleaners in Kansas.
Growing up, Christie and her siblings enjoyed playing in the
woods and fishing at their family cabin. Most of Christie’s school years were
spent Kansas City. In 1977, Christie received her GED, at that time, she started attending classes at the Bolivar Cosmetology School, after completing her
state boards, Christie and her husband opened C. Michel's, a salon that serviced the Bolivar area.
Four years later, Christie and her three daughters moved to Nevada, Mo.,
where she worked as a waitress at the Golden Coral. In 2002, Christie started
working at the State Hospital in the kitchen. After it closed, Christie became a
CNA and worked at Grandview Nursing Home in Grandview, Mo.
Christie has had many great experiences throughout her life, including the
birth of her four children, whom she loves dearly. Other experiences have
been owning and operating her beauty shop and a cruise to Cozumel, Mexico.
This past October, Christie became part of the Community Springs
Healthcare Facility family. She can often be found enjoying the numerous
religious programs that are offered and Bingo. Thank you Christie for sharing
your story and being Community Springs Healthcare Facility’s Resident of
the Month for March.
