She also works with our residents who are on the restorative program 2-3 times a week. She promotes improve- ment in function to help minimize deteriorations. This type of therapy helps residents continue to do things for themselves for a healthier lifestyle. Resident Spotlight Delbert Blagg Delbert joined our family at Community Springs in April 2018. He was born in Cedar County, Missouri, 11 miles from Stockton and 11 miles from El Dorado Springs. His parents were George Marion Blagg and Mildred May Blagg. To their union they had six children and Delbert is third in line. Delbert attended Johnson School and graduated from El Dorado Springs High School. After he graduated he went to work for an electrical contractor from Mississippi building power lines from Clinton to Osceola when Truman Lake was beginning to be built. He later moved to California where his aunt and uncle lived. In his early 20’s, he was drafted into the Army, and was stationed in France. While he was in France, he took the stairs all the way up to the top of the Eiffel Tower. He served the military for two years, three months and one day, however, his service was extended for three months and one day. When his enlistment ended, Delbert married his wife Melanie. They met at a bank in Benning, California. She was a school teacher. The couple have three girls who still live in California. Del- bert worked as an Electrician/Lineman for 42 yrs. In the late 70s, he went to Saudi Arabia for four months doing electrical work. While there, he spear fished and played tag with sharks. Delbert moved back to Missouri after his wife died. At Community Springs, he enjoys reading and reminiscing with friends. Are you a caring individual who would like to assist in caring for the elderly?
