We would like to extend our
deepest sympathy to the
family and friends of
Mary, along with family and friends, celebrated
her 101st birthday with a party that included cake,
balloons, flowers, and a resolution from the office of
State Representative Warren D. Love.
Mary was born in 1918 in Lincoln, England, while
serving as a Red Cross volunteer during WW II. She
met and married Ferrel Cates. After their marriage,
the couple relocated to Missouri. Mary had never
been away from her home in England until then. It
would be 30 years before she returned.
Ferrel and Mary were married for 61 years and
were blessed with five children: John, Michelle, Nan-
cy, Patrick and Richard. Mary always has a positive
Personality. When asked how are you doing, her re-
sponse is “I am on top of the world.” Thank you to
Mary and her family for being a part of our
Community Springs Healthcare Facility family.
