Time to nominate: New awards to recognise service in the community
The Royal Borough of Greenwich has launched new awards to recognise the outstanding work of unsung heroes.
Presentations of the first new Civic Awards are due to be held in March during Civic Week. The awards will be made on an annual basis to individuals, organisations or businesses who have made an outstanding contribution to the social, economic and physical wellbeing of the borough.
An awards panel, headed by the Mayor Councillor David Grant, will select the winners who will be invited to attend an awards ceremony during Civic Week in March.
Mayor of the Royal Borough of Greenwich, Councillor David Grant, said: "Scores of nominations were sent in last year when we ran a similar event to recognise residents who had been inspirational to others. This is another chance for all to recognise and reward the efforts of local people who go the extra mile for their communities and are prime examples of good citizenship."
If you know of someone or an organisation who deserves recognition for their work in the community and the efforts they make in improving the social, cultural and economic prosperity of the Royal Borough, now is the time to get your nomination which brings recognition to the Royal Borough.
