Adelle Yin, Bethesda MD
Adelle Yin has a B.A. in Sociology from Grinnell College. She served with
Montana Campus Compact at the Carroll College Office of Veterans Services from
January 2014- January 2015. Adelle took the position with Montana Campus
Compact with the goal to gain experience working in the social science research
field prior to pursuing graduate level education. At Carroll, Adelle worked in the
Office of Academic Affairs as the Veteran Outreach and Support Initiative Program
Specialist, compiling and analyzing data on the effectiveness of current veteran
support services, as well as coordinating initiatives to address unmet needs of the
veteran and military student population. While in service, Adelle applied and was
accepted to the Masters of Arts Research Methods and Statistics Program at the
University of Denver. Long-term Adelle hopes to apply her training and experience
to analyzing and advocating for programs
and initiatives which lower the risks to
dependents in situations of low family
accountability, capitalize on community
level organizations and power structures
to facilitate parental participation in
family asset building activities (such
mental health counseling, and adult
education programs), and encourage
parental involvement in community
building and leadership roles. While in
service Adelle spent her free time
participating in group exercise, volunteering, and attending Cavalry Baptist Church.
