Cochrane has a transitional climate sitting between the subarctic and humid continental climate zones with cold winters and warm summers. One of the benefits of living in Cochrane is that there are four very distinct seasons, winter, spring, summer and fall, each of which offering ideal conditions to enjoy all of the year round outdoor activities the community has to offer.

While winter in Cochrane can be quite cold, it is also majestic and bright. Spring brings new life and renewal with birds returning from migration, trees and plants beginning to bud. Summer sees hot and sunny days, however with higher than average diurnal temperature variations; residents are ensured the best of both worlds, great summer weather for outdoor activities and cooler nights providing a comfortable night’s sleep. The fall sees the return of crisp cool days and sweater weather, perfect for enjoying the changing colors and scenery.
