Summer Adventure

Cochrane’s summers are filled with activities for the whole family. Centrally located, the town’s beautiful, spring-fed Lake Commando is refuge from the hot July sun.

Beach season is the perfect opportunity for residents and visitors alike to participate in the Round the Lake swim, a 62-year old Cochrane tradition. After lounging in the sun lakeside, fill up on baked goods, local meat, and traditional produce supplied by twelve vendors at the local Farmers' Market, or grab some friends and hit the links at Lee Golf Club – hole number 6 is sure to test your talents!

Cochrane even offers a chance to ride the Gardiner Ferry, also known as the Cassiopeia IV: the last winch driven cable ferry in Ontario. For those looking to explore the outskirts of town, Cochrane Air Services provides remote fishing and hunting vacations, with more than 20 outpost cabins and lakes. 40 years of service ensures you will have the experience of a lifetime!
