Cleburne Chamber of Commerce

Mayor derek weathers to speak at luncheon

A

new chapter is beginning in Cleburne, and members of the community will have an opportunity to hear directly from the city’ s newest leader during the Cleburne Chamber of Commerce’ s upcoming quarterly luncheon.
Mayor Derek Weathers will serve as the featured speaker for the luncheon on Aug. 19 at the Cleburne Conference Center, 1501 W. Henderson St. The program, appropriately themed“ A New Chapter for Cleburne,” will offer chamber members and community leaders a chance to learn more about the mayor, his priorities and his vision for the city.
Weathers took office this summer following a June runoff election. His election marked the beginning of a new era for Cleburne, as Scott Cain retired after 14 years as mayor.
Doors open at 11 a. m., with lunch served at 11:30 a. m. The program will run from noon to 1 p. m.
Tickets are $ 45 for chamber members and $ 55 for general admission. A half corporate table for four is $ 220, while a corporate table for eight is $ 440. A vegetarian meal option is available when requested by Aug. 14.
Cleburne Ford is the presenting sponsor for the luncheon, with HTeaO serving as the drink sponsor. Gold sponsors include Atmos Energy, Johnson County Food Bank, My Roofing and Southwestern Adventist University.
