Community Insider continues to be the Premier Resource for Community Associations , and the Publications Committee looks forward not only to meeting in person to prepare the next issue , but the return of all of our well attended Chapter events ! See you soon .

LEGISLATIVE SUPPORT COMMITTEE

The CAI San Diego CLAC Legislative Support Committee ( LSC ) has been working hard these last several months meeting with our local legislators to express serious concerns over the impact that proposed Assembly Bill 3182 would have on community associations . While Assembly Bill 3182 was ultimately signed into law by our Governor effective January 1 , 2021 , our LSC members were able to utilize these “ virtual ” meetings to educate our legislators on the important issues community associations face , on a regular basis , in California . Many of the legislators were extremely surprised by the number of constituents in their districts that live in community associations . If your community association does not already contribute to the CAI CLAC “ Buck-A-Door ” annual program ($ 1 per condominium unit or home in your association ), please consider doing so this year so that CAI CLAC is able to continue to make your voices heard in Sacramento .

OUTREACH COMMITTEE

The Holidays are right around the corner and the Community Outreach Committee is gearing up with two holiday drives this year . Our goal is to give back as much as possible to our community of San Diego .
COMMITTEE UPDATES
This year , we are participating in our first Thanksgiving drive that will end on November 13th . We have partnered with San Diego Youth Services in providing San Diego ’ s most vulnerable youth and families a Thanksgiving box . We have asked Managers , Business Partners , families and friends to kindly donate non-perishable Thanksgiving food items ( yams , green beans , gravy , etc .). We will be assembling the Thanksgiving box where SDYS will then distribute to families allowing them to come together to cook and enjoy a Thanksgiving meal . If you ’ d like to participate , please contact Robert Kelly - rkelly @ prescottmgt . com
On November 16th thru December 15th we will have our annual Holiday Drive . Each year , CAI and the Youth Assistance Coalition join forces to help homeless youth and improve their lives on the streets . Our goal is to help YAC SD continue their efforts with a hot meal and a supply drive to provide basic necessities to kids that need a hand up , not a hand out ! Basic necessities would include travel size hygiene and toiletry products , sleeping bags , tents , blankets , new / used clothing , etc . We encourage Business Partners , Management Companies and local HOAs to collect supplies . Collections can be dropped off on December 15th from 3-7 PM during our Day at YAC at 1904 Market Street , San Diego CA . Contact Amber Korody for more details - amber @ choicemanagementsolutions . com
