PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
SUMMER
IS HERE!
A
s we approach another beautiful San Diego summer, there are exciting
things happening at CAI!
There were an amazing 110 CAI-SD walkers & runners at the Race
for Autism on April 6th! Thank you to all of our dedicated volunteers for
their fundraising and athletic efforts!
We want to thank the more than 100 managers, business partners &
homeowners from across California who made the trip to Sacramento for the
California Legislative Action Committee (CLAC) Legislative Day at the Capitol,
including eleven CAI-SD members (Kieran Purcell, Rob Ward, Pamela Richardson,
Craig Combs, Kimberly Lilley, Natalie Stewart, Robert Riddick, Ramona Acosta, Steve
Tinnelly, Laura Kwiatkowski, Richard Ybarra & myself). Working over two days of
concurrent visits, we talked to every state legislator or their staff regarding the bills
that affect homeowners associations. If you see any of us at upcoming events, feel
free to ask us about the experience or how to get involved!
We hope that you enjoyed our recent Education Conference in North County and
our other spring education programs. Upcoming education program topics include
“Elections” (6/28/19) and “Disaster – Before, During & After” (8/2/19).
Our summer social season will soon be underway, with Wine Night, the
Tiki Party, Day at the Races, and back by popular demand… Beer Night! Please
remember to get your tickets early, as these events will sell out.
Our Membership & Retention Committee deserves special recognition, as we
have 53 new CAI-SD members so far this year! The Committee members hard
work & dedication to increasing awareness & membership for CAI-SD is definitely
paying off. We encourage all members to invite people they know to any of our
education programs. Please contact the CAI-SD office for additional information and
sponsorship.
Finally, we are excited to welcome Garrett Reynolds to the CAI-SD Board of
Directors, replacing Colleen Cazimero who has moved to sunny Arizona.
I am looking forward to seeing everyone at our upcoming events, and as always,
welcome any input regarding events or CAI.
Thank you for being a part of CAI-San Diego!
