PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
CAI SAN DIEGO
HEADING
INTO FALL
By Melissa Brown, AMS, PCAM
Virginia Woolf once said “And all the lives we ever lived and all the lives to
be are full of trees and changing leaves…” For me, this rings especially
true as we head into fall and our landscape has certainly changed! We
have had a busy summer season here at CAI as we continue to work
and adapt to these changing times. We said goodbye to Karen Gomez as
she left us to embark on her next adventure in the advancement of her career. We
brought on an interim ED, DJ Conlon from the Greater Inland Empire Chapter, who has
fearlessly stepped in and taken the reins to lead us as we work to navigate this new
landscape!
The Board has tirelessly discussed virtual event options to replace our muchmissed
social events. We decided to create a Virtual Events Committee, comprised
of some extremely talented members with some great ideas and suggestions. They
are working on an existing virtual social event, so keep your eyes peeled for more
information on how to attend.
We are still working on a permanent replacement ED. Over the last several
months, we have interviewed many candidates in our search to find the right person
to lead our chapter into the future. A special thanks to the executive committee,
Robert Riddick, Nathan Cornett, Clint McClure and Garrett Reynolds for their time and
dedication in this search.
I can certainly say, I miss seeing all of you and hope we are able to be together
again soon. Until then, take time to sit and watch the leaves turn.
Keep those ideas coming! Visit our website; reach out to me or any of the Board
members, or the CAI office to share.
