COVER STORY PROTEC: IMPROVING QUALITY OF LIFE S ince its founding in 1996 by Dave Rauch, ProTec’s Purpose has been to “Improve Quality of Life” for their employees, clients and the HOAs they serve. Those four words have remained ProTec’s guiding light and catalyst to their success. Now, twenty-three years later, ProTec has grown to 400+ employees; expanded its services to include plumbing and painting; and, opened nine regional offices across Southern California and Southern Nevada. The most recent addition was their new Chula Vista Office which opened on July 1st - the 4th office serving San Diego County. Before ProTec, Dave worked within an HOA Management Company. He experienced first-hand the 42 | SAN DIEGO COMMUNITY INSIDER FALL 2019 difficulties and negative reality Community Managers faced daily. He resolved to build a company to “Improve Quality of Life” for these managers who were inundated with negativity. The result was two industry innovations that have remained at the core of ProTec’s business. ProTec’s “Preventive Maintenance Programs” streamline community maintenance to make the Community Managers jobs easier and save the community significant resources. There are two types; the first, called a Building Maintenance Program, was developed for Condominiums, Planned Unit Developments and Master Associations. The second, the Building Engineering Program, is geared for Mid-Rise and High-Rise Communities.
