The county covers 436.92 square miles and this area is home to Marion County Jail and
Jailor's House, Standard Printing Company, Riverview Park, Culbertson-Head
Farmstead, Eighth and Center Streets Baptist Church, Rockcliffe Mansion, Marion
County Courthouse and Hannibal Old Police Station and Jail.1 The county has an overall
population density of 65.9 persons per square mile compared to the State average of
87.1 persons per square mile.2
The county is located in the north eastern part of the state and its economy is based on
Manufacturing (23.5%), Educational,health and social services (20.2%), Retail trade
(11.7%).
