El Dorado Public Schools serves students and families in the city of El Dorado and the surrounding rural areas of Butler County with a comprehensive educational program including vocal music, band, orchestra, fine arts, physical education, art, foreign language, and technology. The district has been recognized for excellence in technology and takes pride in providing tools that support acquisition of 21st century skills. Students attend one of four elementary schools, including a Pre-K program and full-day kindergarten, a middle school serving grades 6-8, or El Dorado High School, a 4A school serving students in grades 9-12. The high school has an alternative program as well as a virtual program for students who experience success in a non-traditional setting.

Early College Academy partnership with Butler Community College
EHS students are able to earn a technical certificate while still in high school through the Early College Academy partnership with Butler Community College. Most participants earn about 50 college credit hours by the time they complete the program. These courses also count toward high school graduation.
New schools opening in August 2018
Two new elementary schools and a new District Performing Arts Center will open in August of 2018. These new facilities represent the completion of a long-range facilities plan that replaced outdates structures with updated, technology-friendly buildings
USD 375
Circle Unified School District 375 stretches across the northwestern quarter of Butler County and extends into Sedgwick County. The district includes housing divisions in northeast Wichita and the communities of Greenwich, Benton, Towanda and Oil Hill (a subdivision of El Dorado). They offer grades K-12th grade with an enrollment, of approximately 1850 students.
