THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A FARMERS MARKET IN
HOBSON CITY
PHASE FOUR OF THE AGRICULTURAL CENTER
Phrase four of the Agricultural Center will be the establishment of a farmers market in downtown Hobson City
and the participation in other farmers markets that are already established in the surrounding area. The first
produce from the garden each year will still be given to the church and the elderly. Giving the first and best
produce back to the Lord is a principle that our organization was founded upon and we will continue to honor
and implement this sacred activity. However, in order to sustain the garden we must generate a source of income
in order to purchase the materials and supplies that are needed for efficient operations and management.
Our plan is to have the Hobson City market open each Saturday and Wednesday morning as produce is available
beginning in May of 2012. We will also participate at the Zinn Park market in Anniston on the same days.
Some of the funds generated from the sale of produce will go towards setting up a scholarship fund for youth who
participate in garden program. Another strong principle that our organization was founded upon is that education is the
key to the future.
