PROCEDURES WHEN VOLUNTEERING

PROCEDURES WHEN VOLUNTEERING

Volunteer forms
You must complete a Volunteer Application and a Criminal Record History Release ( CRHR ) form each year for each school at which you would like to volunteer . Once your application has been accepted , the school ’ s Volunteer Services Coordinator ( VSC ) will contact you to begin your assignment .
Signing-in
When you enter the school , staff will direct you to swipe your license to allow access to the building . You will be asked to sign in each time you volunteer at the school . For security reasons , and in the case of an emergency , it is important for the principal and office support to know who is in the building and why .
Recording volunteer time
Please be sure to record the time you volunteered and sign out before you leave . If you do volunteer work at home , keep track of your hours and share them with the VSC . A record of volunteer hours enables the school to evaluate its volunteer program and recognize volunteers for their contribution of time . The hours spent volunteering are an example of the commitment to quality education at our schools .
Name tag
Pick up a name tag upon entering the school . By wearing a name tag designated for volunteers , you will be recognized as a person whose specific purpose is to help the students and staff .
1 . Complete the Volunteer Application form and Criminal Record History Release ( CRHR ) before starting your volunteer assignment .
2 . If you must cancel , contact the school as soon as possible . 3 . Ask questions . 4 . Be yourself . You are unique in what you can offer our learners . 5 . If you have constructive criticism , tell us . We welcome your comments .
