PROCEDURES WHEN VOLUNTEERING

PROCEDURES WHEN VOLUNTEERING

Volunteer forms
You must complete a Volunteer Application and a Criminal Record History Release( CRHR) form each year for each school at which you would like to volunteer. Once your application has been accepted, a school staff member will contact you to begin your assignment.
Signing-in
When you enter the school, staff will direct you to swipe your license to allow access to the building. You will be asked to sign in each time you volunteer at the school. For security reasons, and in the case of an emergency, it is important for the principal and office support to know who is in the building and why.
Recording volunteer time
Please be sure to record the time you volunteered and sign out before you leave. If you do volunteer work at home, keep track of your hours and share them with Volunteer Services. A record of volunteer hours enables the school to evaluate its volunteer program and recognize volunteers for their contribution of time. The hours spent volunteering are an example of the commitment to quality education at our schools.
Name tag
Pick up a name tag upon entering the school. By wearing a name tag designated for volunteers, you will be recognized as a person whose specific purpose is to help the students and staff.
DON’ T FORGET!
1. Complete the Volunteer Application form and Criminal Record History Release( CRHR) prior to volunteering. Your application must be accepted prior to beingconsidered for a volunteer assignment. 2. If you must cancel, contact the school as soon as possible. 3. Ask questions. 4. Be yourself. You are unique in what you can offer our learners. 5. If you have constructive criticism, tell us.
