Assessments
Teachers monitor children’ s academic, social and physical progress with an assessment tool called Teaching Strategies Gold. Teachers use this data to plan lessons that promote growth in all areas of development and learning for each student. Your child’ s individual data will be shared during Parent-Teacher Conferences.
Parent-Teacher Conferences
Parent-Teacher Conferences are held in the fall and spring. This is a time to talk with your child’ s teacher and plan learning goals for your child. You will also receive important information about their development and progress.
Parent Visitation
Preschool class time is between 2.75 and 4 hours in length. Given the short instructional time, outside of volunteering, visits from parents during class time are not typically allowed. Exceptions may be made such as family emergencies, student health-related needs or unique circumstances that a parent / guardian needs immediate access to the student.

Home Learning Activities
To help reinforce and build preschool skills, Home Learning Activities are offered in all classes. Activities are a fun activity or game to include both the parent / guardian and child. Your child’ s teacher will communicate with you about these activities.
Weapons
It is the policy of the Anoka-Hennepin School District to maintain a positive, safe and secure learning and working environment. Weapons or items that look like weapons( toy guns, knives, etc.) are not allowed at school, in the bus / van or on school property. If a child brings a weapon or item that resembles a weapon to school, the parent / guardian will be called and an appropriate plan to address the situation will be made.
