BEGINNING GUITAR
Let the music play! Learn the basics of music including reading music, rhythm,
melody and meter. Parents are invited to a mini-recital the last class. Note: Bring a
six-string guitar. Electric guitars require an amplifier. Bring a nut-free snack.

DRUM LESSONS
This course is intended to provide a solid foundation in drum set performance and
musicianship. We will initially focus on hand and foot techniques, basic rhythms,
rudiments and musical styles. By the end of this course, all students should have
the ability to confidently play various drum beats and fills in multiple styles. Note to
parents: Drumsticks and practice pads will be provided with an option to purchase.
No class July 2.

BABYSITTING: AMERICAN RED CROSS CERTIFIED
Parents are looking for certified babysitters! Get a leg up on the competition with
this American Red Cross class that prepares you for a wide variety of babysitting
situations. Through hands-on activities, you’ll learn about the basic care of young
children including safety and responsibility, age-appropriate activities and first aid.
Boys and girls at least 11 years of age are welcome to participate. Class includes
a comprehensive babysitting manual. Must complete the entire class to receive
certification.

SAFETY AWARENESS/SELF DEFENSE-NEW STUDENTS
This program is designed to enhance self-esteem, self-discipline, defense and safety
awareness. It isn’t exactly karate, although you can progress to a yellow belt or
