ALTERNATIVE ENERGY
Create a hand generator joule jeep to understand how generators convert mechanical energy
into electrical energy. You’ll compare the efficiency of these technologies to manual power
and observe the power these sources provide. Specialized energy display LEGO® bricks allow
us to quantifiably compare energy sources.

ANIME CLUB
Do you like anime or enjoy reading manga well this is the club for you! This is a fun club where
we meet and watch some of our favorite anime, share our opinions on card games and trade
manga. There will be planned events as well as member influenced activities. Come join the
exciting experience for students who want to share their love for Otaku culture.

ASTRONOMY CLUB
Come on out to the observatory where you will not just learn astronomy, but learn to DO
astronomy. Navigating with star charts and sky maps, you will learn how to set-up, aim, and
focus a telescope. With these skills, you will be able to observe the Moon, planets, nebulae, and
clusters. This is your chance to learn to run the massive telescope in the dome as well as smaller
telescopes which you will run by yourself to explore the cosmos. No class Nov. 5, Dec. 3.

LEGO DERBY CHALLENGE
Armed with nothing but your brains, wits, and bricks, build a LEGO vehicle that is the fastest
and strongest in competition! Week one will allow students to design and test vehicles, then
week two will have racing tournaments, demolition derbies, and more to put those vehicles to
the test! Collect enough victories in challenges and contests, and you could walk away with a
prize!
