Participating in extra-curricular activities and athletic programs is a great way for students to engage in their school community as they meet friends and learn new things. Community Education offers a wide variety of unique activities, designed for teens, in the evening, on the weekend or after-school to enhance their academic and social experience: • ATHLETICS: Team and individual sports • PLAY: Recreation, games and fitness • CREATE: Arts, cooking and theatre • EXPLORE: Science and technology • SCHOOL’S OUT • LEARN: Safety, babysitting and lessons • AQUATICS • FAMILY FUN Community Education welcomes participants of all abilities. Teams are formed based on each player’s skill level. Students must have a Sports Qualifying Physical (valid for three years) on file to participate. Teams practice after school and compete against other Anoka-Hennepin middle schools. Activity busses are available Monday – Thursday. Parents are responsible for transportation on Fridays and after games. Students who qualify for free or reduced lunches pay the fee listed to the right of the class fee e.g. ($XX) . Using a co- ed, non-contact, recreational format is an exceptional way for first-time players to learn the fundamentals. Each week includes a one hour practice and one hour game.
