Did you know? The Project Power program is a part of Anoka-Hennepin Community Education. There are similar programs in many schools districts throughout Minnesota. Last year, the Project Power program offered more than 200 classes and activities. In addition to the many ongoing classes and activities there are also several highlighted annual events including: Our awesome instructors have a combined 150 years of experience working for the program. • Halloween Dance Party The Project Power program provided 151 hours of interpreter services to individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing in 2016-17. • Merry Music Makers Holiday Concert Participants are encouraged to be as independent as possible, to try new things, and learn new skills. We also request that participant’s staff and family members assist as needed to ensure a safe and successful experience. • Thanksgiving Dinner • Spring Fling Dinner and Dance • Dust Devil T-Ball Tournament • Spring Music Showcase and Project Power LIVE! Talent Show Check it out! This fall, a new video was created so that everyone could see the Project Power program in action. Unfortunately we couldn’t film all classes and every person who participates (although how fun would that be!), but we now have a great way to share how much fun we have and how the program provides opportunities to learn new things and connect with friends. You can view the video on our website, and share it with your friends and family! Learn more: www.discovercommunityed.com/project power Register for classes online at www.discovercommunityed.com 20
