NEW! Parenting Across Cultures
Parents and caregivers who immigrate to the United States bring a
wealth of parenting strengths - drawing on culture, tradition, and family
experience - yet living in a multicultural setting can be challenging. Spend
time playing with your child along with parents and children of a variety
of cultural backgrounds. Parenting discussions will include how to help
children learn through everyday experiences.

Adventures in Parenting
Parenting is a challenging job
with struggles and trials. For
some, the challenge is even
more difficult due to:
• mental health issues or anxiety,
• added stress of money concerns,
• parents with their own learning
difficulties, or
• lack of family support.
This class offers parenting education
and community resources for parents
facing these unique challenges.
There will also be time for play and
children’s learning activities.
Limited transportation is available.

Explore and discover the world outside through experiential, hands-on
activities. Parenting discussion will include how to help children learn
through common everyday experiences. Weather permitting (if outdoor
temperature is above 25 degrees including windchill), class will go to the
nature area for outdoor activities. Dress for outdoor play every week.

If you’ve been in ECFE classes for more than a year or perhaps you have
two children and are ready to move beyond toilet learning and toddler
tantrums, then this is the class for you! As you transition from parenting
little ones to bigger kids, it’s time to shift discussions to a focus on
preschool and early elementary school parenting. For Anoka location,
please bring an age-appropriate snack & beverage for your child(ren).
