ECFE
PRESCHOOL CLASSES
ECFE classes during the preschool years strengthen parent-child interactions while promoting children’ s social, emotional, and language development. Children build school readiness skills while parents discuss ways to help their children become confident, independent learners.
Preschooler classes are separating classes which means parents / caregivers spend half of the class time together with their child and half in parenting education while the child stays with an early childhood teacher.

NATURE-BASED PRESCHOOL-FALL 2026
Anoka-Hennepin Schools Preschool will be offering a nature-based preschool class option at Riverview Early Childhood Center in the Riverview Outdoor Classroom for the 2026-27 school year.
Parents, Kids & Preschool( 3 to 4 years, 4 months) This preschool class meets two days a week- the first day, parents and children attend together; the second day is for children only. Activities will promote learning in the development of social skills, math, literacy, music, and science. Parenting topics include getting ready for kindergarten, setting limits, bedtime, and more.
There are several benefits of outdoor learning and a nature-based environment provides opportunities for rich, open-ended activities that encompass discovery and learning. The majority of class time is spent in the outdoor classroom which allows integrated learning and play-based exploration.
