Why choose a school district
preschool program?
As a parent, you want to be sure that
your child is ready for kindergarten.
Preschool serves as an introduction
to the school experience. Anoka-
Hennepin Schools Preschool provides
an introduction to the school experience
in comfortable and inspiring classroom
environments where students learn
and grow, and become ready for
kindergarten.
The program follows a curriculum
closely aligned with the Anoka-Hennepin
Schools kindergarten curriculum and is
taught by licensed teachers. In addition,
Anoka-Hennepin Schools Preschool uses
a common assessment tool to evaluate
student learning, which is aligned with
district wide kindergarten-readiness
benchmarks.
Children gain important skills and
experiences in:
• Learning to follow routines and rules.
• L earning to get along with other
children.
• Literacy, pre-reading skills and writing.
• M
ath and number sense, science,
art and music.
