JUST FOR PARENTS
A Good Night’s Sleep
Why it’s Important and How to Get There
Learn the essentials of sleep for children and how sleep has a direct
impact on daytime behavior. Up to date brain-based research will provide
you with the knowledge to help your children get to sleep and stay asleep.
Discuss strategies for children who refuse to go bed, children who get
out of bed, and children who wake up during the night. Listen to real-life
stories of families who took the stress out of bedtime while teaching their
children the skill of a good night’s sleep. This is an adult only event - no
child care is available.

What Do You Do with the Mad that You Feel?
Helping Children Manage Anger and Learn Self-Control
Examine the developmental stages a child goes through to learn self-
control and explore the important lessons parents and early childhood
educators can share along the way to support that process. By gaining
insight into the ways that children deal with their mad feelings, and that
it is a developmental issue rather than a moral issue, we can help the
children learn how to deal with difficult feelings constructively. This is an
adult only event - no child care is available.

Why take
parenting classes?
Attending a parenting class gives
you a chance to learn about
parenting best practices from
licensed parent educators.
Parenting classes aren’t just for
young or inexperienced parents;
they are designed to meet the
needs of today’s families by
providing a community of learning
experiences for moms, dads,
grandparents, and those who
work with children. Classes are
offered for parents/caregivers with
children ages birth through grade
three.
We understand what works for one
child may not work for another,
and parenting classes can’t solve
everything. They can, however,
give you strategies that you can
apply in your everyday life, help
you meet other parents in the
same boat, and increase your
confidence in your own parenting
ability.
