ecfe Mixed-age (birth up to kindergarten) parent/child classes Love & Logic We all want our children to grow up to be responsible adults. Learn techniques that help children of all ages, such as setting clear limits, choosing when to include children in decision-making, and how to encourage empathy for others. Class is based on the classic book, “Parenting with Love and Logic,” by Foster Cline and Jim Fay. Teen / Young Parent Connections Are you a teen parent or a young parent, or about to become one? ECFE provides pregnant and parenting young people, ages 13-22, with support services and parent education. Parent discussion topics include: • sleep, • nutrition, • the influence of media, • development, • discipline, • and more. This class also offers community resources, children’s learning activities and time for play. Self-Care for Parents Who Have No Time On an airplane, in case of an emergency, you put on your oxygen mask first and then help your child. You don’t need an emergency to learn that taking care of your needs means being better able to take care of your child’s needs. Not only will you be helping yourself, practicing self-care will also help you be a better parent. Discuss the hows and whys of self-care that can make a positive impact on you and your child.
