NEWBORN PARENTING CLASSES

Parents and caregivers + babies , birth to 12 weeks , are invited to join us for our newborn parenting series . This is an opportunity for weekly baby weight checks , to connect with other new parents , ask questions or talk about concerns , gain professional advice , laugh , cry , and talk about life with your new baby . Classes are led by a licensed parenting educator along with a public health nurse and lactation consultant .
Newborn Parenting
( Birth to 12 weeks )

This is an opportunity for weekly baby weight checks , to connect with other new parents , ask questions , or talk about concerns , gain professional advice , laugh , and talk about life with your new baby . Classes are led by a licensed parenting educator along with a public health nurse , and lactation consultant . Start anytime and come as many times as you like until your little one is 12 weeks old . Pre-registration is not required , but it does help us be more prepared . And , best of all , it ’ s FREE !

PRESCHOOLERS CLASSES

ECFE classes during the preschool years strengthen parent-child interactions while promoting children ’ s social , emotional , and language development . Children build school readiness skills while parents discuss ways to help their children become confident , independent learners .
Preschooler classes are separating classes which means parents / caregivers spend half of the class time together with their child and half in parenting education while the child stays with an Early Childhood Teacher .
Threes
( 36 to 48 months ) Your child is three and ready for more independence . Parenting discussion includes information about choices , getting dressed , mealtime , potty training , making friends , and how to prepare for what ’ s next . Plus , it ’ s your chance to spend some uninterrupted time together participating in activities that support growth and development . You ’ ll also connect with other parents and caregivers going through similar experiences .

Parents , Kids & Preschool
( 3 yrs . to 4 yrs . 11 mo .)
This preschool class meets two days a week - the first day , parents and children attend together ; the second day is for children only . Activities will promote learning in the development of social skills , math , literacy , music , and science . Parenting topics include getting ready for kindergarten , setting limits , bedtime , and more . * Note : At the Riverview ECC location , class is held in the outdoor classroom both on the parent / child day and the childonly day . Plan accordingly and dress for the weather .
