Construction update
When school begins Sept. 4, parents and guardians,
students, and staff will notice an array of construction
projects happening at all five of the district’s high
schools, as well at the locations of two new elementary
schools (Blaine and Ramsey).
The work is the start of a four-year construction cycle
that will impact every one of our schools as part of the
Fit for the Future plan.
That plan, which was backed by voters last November
when the community approved a request for new
funding to make the plan happen, will create safe and
secure learning environments by removing all portable
classrooms across the district, construct additional
schools and classroom space, provide solutions for
maintaining quality schools at every building in the
district, and address class sizes at all levels.
For more information about the Fit for the Future
projects, the construction timeline, or more information
about the plan itself, visit ahschools.us/construction.
Knowing the financial strain that tuition may place on a family’s
budget, a sliding tuition scale is available for three-year-old
preschool and four-year-old preschool - option 3. See page 20
for sliding tuition scale information. CHANGES
NEW Sibling discount Boundary changes
When two children from the same family are enrolled in three-
year-old preschool or four-year-old preschool - option 3, a
50 percent tuition discount will be given to the second child.
Additional children will also receive a 50 percent tuition discount,
up to four total children per family.

BOUNDARY
The Anoka-Hennepin School Board began seeking
feedback from community members via community
meetings, surveys and emails in January 2018 in an
effort to address attendance boundary changes at
all elementary schools, and middle schools in Blaine
and Coon Rapids, to balance student enrollment.
Detailed attendance boundary proposals, including
interactive maps, are available at ahschools.us/
boundaries.
Edited proposals, if applicable, will be shared with
the School Board between Aug. 27-Sept. 24, at
which a School Board decision is tentatively planned
for the regularly scheduled School Board meeting
Sept. 24. Families will be notified of new attendance
boundaries by December 2018, and new attendance
boundaries will go into effect in Sept. 2019.
Do you have questions about Anoka-Hennepin’s
attendance boundary changes? Send us an email at:
