Our Mission | The Anoka-Hennepin School District Community Education Department is dedicated to lifelong learning, involving people and enriching communities.
Community Education programs often have a ripple effect. Programs don’ t just impact our learners, they impact our schools, businesses, organizations and our communities.
Your personal impact is greater than you may realize, too. The decisions you make and interactions you have create a ripple effect each day. You make a difference in the lives of your children, your friends, your colleagues, your parents and in your neighborhoods.
Knowing that, we thought that you may be interested in more than just programs for adults. Starting on page 33 of this catalog, we added five pages to give you a taste of additional programming available through community education for families, children and teens this spring and summer:
• Parenting classes for families with babies, toddlers and preschool-aged children
• Preschool enrichment opportunities, including sports, theater, crafts and STEM classes and activities
• Swimming lessons, open swim and aquatic activities for babies, youth and adults( have you heard of underwater hockey?)
• Family fun, including yoga, theater productions and field trips to Bunker Hills Stables and the Wildlife Science Center
• New all-day summer camp options for youth
• College Prep and ACT practice tests
The classes and activities in this catalog are just a sample of the wide variety of classes and programs that Anoka-Hennepin Community Education offers. Please visit our website, www. discovercommunityed. com, to view all of the programs that we coordinate, often right in your own backyard!
Thank you for your continued support of community education. We hope to see you and your families in our classes this summer.
