Our Mission | The Anoka-Hennepin School
District Community Education Department
is dedicated to lifelong learning, involving
people and enriching communities.
Community Education programs bring value to our communities
by offering opportunities for lifelong learning to the people in our
neighborhoods, schools, businesses, organizations – and homes – at all
different stages of life.
• Raising children is both a joy and a challenge. Early Childhood Family
Education (ECFE) programs support parents and families to nurture
and care for children as they grow from infants and toddlers, to
boarding the school bus on the first day of kindergarten. Preschool
programs prepare these young learners for school.
• Youth-focused programs contribute to a safe and healthy community
by providing young people with engaging activities that help them
grow into productive citizens. Enrichment classes and athletic
activities from Community Schools programs inside our schools give
students the chance to dive deeper into their interests after-school
or on the weekend; and introduce them to new friends with shared
interests. Youth Service programs coordinate leadership and service
opportunities for students to give back to their communities.
• Adult enrichment programs give people like you the opportunity
to learn and grow in a wide range of interest areas and offer
opportunities for adults to meet people in our neighborhoods
– strengthening community connections. Adult Basic Education
programs help people earn a GED/high school diploma, improve
basic skills, or learn the English language – for free.
Feel free to reach out to us to learn more.
It’s important to us that we work with the school district, our cities and
counties, and local businesses to support members of our community.
We enjoy sharing our love for learning with the people in our communities
and appreciate your support.
