American Sign Language I
Would you like to learn how to talk with your hands? Or communicate with someone without using your voice? Learn the art of sign language as an important form of communication. ASL I for adult learners offers a structured introduction to American Sign Language, including the manual alphabet, essential vocabulary, and basic grammar. The course focuses on developing practical receptive and expressive skills while promoting awareness and respect for deaf culture. The instructor has over 5 + years of teaching experience.

American Sign Language II
Would you like to learn more advanced grammar structures? Want to learn about the history of deaf culture? Want to interact with a fully native deaf signer? ASL II for adult learners builds on Level I skills by expanding vocabulary, refining grammar, and deepening cultural understanding. Learners will develop the ability to discuss complex topics, use classifiers, and engage in more detailed conversations. The instructor has over 5 + years of teaching experience. NEW | American Sign Language III
ASL Level III builds upon the foundational skills developed in ASL Level II, focusing on expanding vocabulary, refining grammatical structures, and deepening understanding of Deaf culture. Students will engage with more complex narratives, dialogues, and discourse strategies, while also exploring culturally appropriate behaviors and interactions within the Deaf community. Beginning Spanish 101
Learning Spanish enables you to communicate with Spanish-speakers in your community, at work, or when traveling. Classes will explore both the language and culture, and focus on pronunciation, reading comprehension, basic grammar and speaking skills. The instructor is a native speaker. Beginning Spanish 104
Continue to improve your Spanish language skills. Gain fluency and add new vocabulary. Participants will need some Spanish experience or completion of Spanish 103. Students will use the same book they used with Instructor Iris Myers for Beginner Spanish 101, 102 and 103. The instructor is a native speaker.
Spanish 102 and 103 classes will help you gain fluency and add new vocabulary. For Spanish 101, people with minimal Spanish knowledge can join in to review and practice.
Prerequisite for Spanish 103: Spanish 102. Prerequisite for Spanish 104: Spanish 103.
The same book will be used for all classes.

Conversational Japanese
Whether you want to learn conversational Japanese for travel or just for fun, you’ ll find this course makes it easy and enjoyable for beginners to master the essentials of the Japanese language. Throughout this course, you’ ll gain cultural knowledge and learn useful conversational phrases and vocabulary words particular to a specific area of travel. You’ ll practice these in drills, interactive exercises, and dialogues. In each lesson, you’ ll find helpful audio aids and Japanese words written in the English alphabet. This technique will allow you to bypass one of the biggest obstacles for most beginners of Japanese: the letter system.
